Dr. Ni’keeta L. Gilbert, D.V.M.

Dr. Ni’keeta L. Gilbert, D.V.M. is the youngest daughter of two from a military family, a proud aunt of two and god-mother of three. As a toddler she developed a love for animals that never stopped growing. After adopting her first puppy, she learned he had been abused by the previous owner, it was then Dr. Gilbert decided she would become a veterinarian. Dr. Gilbert received a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology with a minor in Biology at Fort Valley State University, there she discovered a knack for picking up stray animals, rehoming them and even keeping a few for herself. She went on to obtain her D.V.M. from Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she continued to help homeless animals find their forever homes, became a student pharmaceutical representative for Elanco, and volunteered with World Vets to care for the pets in Nicaragua. Dr. Gilbert has moved to Houston, Tx with her 10 year old pup Jewels and is ecstatic to join the Long Drive Dog and Cat Hospital Family.
